4/29/16 MUTUAL AID TO rochelle heights
Engine 23 and Truck 23 were both requested by the Rochelle Heights FD to assist them at a church fire. The fire broke out in the rectory of St Michaels Church on Rochelle Ave. It quickly grew to a 4th Alarm bringing in fire departments from all across the area. 11/29/16 HUDSON ST (MATTROPOLIS) 2ND ALARM

2:09 PM: Firefighters in Midwest Liberty County (Division 3) were dispatched to 111 Hudson St for a working fire. 111 Hudson St is a 3 story brick building with a restaurant/bar on the first floor and apartments on the second and third floors. Both 109 and 113 Hudson St addresses are attached to 111 Hudson St.
2:14 PM: Engine 59 arrives on scene first and finds heavy smoke pushing from the first and second floors. A hose is deployed into the first floor to battle the blaze.
2:16 PM: Battalion 15 arrives on scene and requests a 2nd Alarm to the scene. Engine
23 and Truck 23 also arrive and go to work. A second hose is stretched by Engine 23,
while Truck 23 puts it ladder to the roof and sends its crew to the first floor to search.
2:24 PM: Flames on the second floor flashover and extend up to the third floor.
Firefighters on the second and third floors are forced to evacuate.
2:27 PM: Trucks 23 and 25 place their aerial master streams in operation to douse the
flames, as the fire continues to spread up and through the roof.
3:16 PM: All visible flames from the exterior are knocked down. Crews are able to
re-enter the structure to douse pockets of fire and open up the walls and ceilings.
3:28 PM: Fire is officially declared under control and overhaul begins.
3:40 PM: 2nd Alarm units are released from the scene as crews begin to pack up.
3:55 PM: All 1st Alarm units are released except Engine 59, Truck 23 and Battalion 23.
3:58 PM: Investigators arrive to find a cause.
4:23 PM: Investigation is complete. The cause is determined to be electrical in the
kitchen on the first floor. All units are placed back in service and the scene is clear.
Total time of incident: 2 Hours 14 Minutes

5/13/17 NOR'EASTER HITS LIBERTY COUNTY
The F.D.L.C. was kept busy with storm related emergencies throughout the entire county. The following blotter is just some of the emergencies the F.D.L.C.operated at between 08:00 and 17:00. The F.D.L.C. also operated at 62 activated fire alarms across the county.
08:42 - E-47/T-47 responded to Rt 17 North by Midland Ave for a motor
vehicle crash with injuries.
08:45 - E-56/E-11/E-73/T-56/T-5/R-5/B-24/B-25/D-5 responded to a
residence on Johnson Ave in Liberty Twp for a possible structure
fire which was a false alarm.
09:17 - E-33/T-33 responded to Campgaw Rd and Fyke Terrace for a tree down with electrical wires down but not arching.
09:38 - E-8/T-8 responded to Washington St and Spring St for a smell of
natural gas in the area. Negative results.
09:55 - E-3/T-3 responded to South Washington Ave and Clinton Ave for a
utility pole fire.

5/16/17 INTERSTATE 287 (RAMAPO) BRUSH FIRE
At 3:30 PM, Engine 33, Tanker 33 and Battalion 1 responded to a large brush fire on Route 287 at mile marker 162. By 4:30 PM, the fire was doused completely. There were no injuries or property damaged from this fire.
5/24/17 DUKE DR (PETERSBURGH) 2ND ALARM
At 9:47 PM, FDLC firefighters were dispatched to a house fire on Duke Dr in Petersburgh. Engine 83 and Truck 83 were first to arrive and found heavy fire venting from the first and second floors of the home. Firefighters would make an aggressive interior attack, but conditions would deteriorate rapidly. A defensive attack would then be made utilizing multiple hose lines and master streams. The incident would grow to a 2nd Alarm assignment. No residents or firefighters would be injured.

11/26/17 MAIN ST (MATTROPOLIS) 3RD ALARM
Firefighters were dispatched to 430 Main St for a structure fire at 9:45 AM. Engine 23 and Truck 23 arrived first to find smoke showing from the first and second floors. Flames would quickly extend up to the third floor of the building though. Firefighters would stretch attack hoses up the fire escape of the building to make an aggressive attack on the fire. The attack would be a success and the fire would be declared under control at 10:15 AM. Three alarms would be needed to the scene, bringing 60 firefighters. There would be no injuries.

12/25/17 roland ave (Midland) all hands
On Christmas Day, FDLC firefighters were dispatched to a residence on Roland Ave in Midland for a house fire at 3:01 PM. Engine 34 arrived on scene first and found heavy smoke venting from the front of the 2.5 story home. As an attack line is being stretched into the home, a flashover occurred on the first floor. More hoses would be stretched to battle the flames by Engine 88's crew off of Engine 34. At 3:20 PM, the fire would be declared under control. No one was injured at this scene.
