Station 54
5 Lotz Ln, Liberty Park, NJ
Station 54 is the only firehouse located in the 1 square mile town of Liberty Park. The Liberty Park Volunteer Fire Department operated out of this firehouse until 1997. It is a 5 bay firehouse that was originally built with 3 bays in 1976. In 1995, two more bays were added. This station houses Engine 54, Rescue 3, Deputy 3, Rehab and Care (RAC) 3 and Scuba 3. Station 54 is first due to the Liberty County Harley Davidson, which is why they have chosen the Harley Davidson theme for their patch. Liberty Park is completely surrounded by highways (Route 4 to the North, Route 80 to the South, Route 17 to the East and the Garden State Parkway to the West) which is why this station serves as headquarters of Division 3. It is also why Rescue 3 and other important resources are stationed here, so they can be deployed throughout the area quickly. Liberty Park is 80% residential with some commercial and industrial complexes. Engine 54 is one of the slower engines in the department. They respond to an average of 400 runs a year. Rescue 3 is the busiest rescue in the fleet with an average of 2,500 runs a year. In 2012, Rescue 3 hit 3,004 runs which is the record for most runs for a rescue company in a year.
